We Stand Together – Resilience Against Racism Workshops
Here are some upcoming programs that may be of interest to you and your members.
Resilience Against Racism Workshops(flyer attached)
We are launching a series of workshops for the Monash community which will provide the opportunity for community members to learn skills in how to respond if affected by racism and racist behaviour. The sessions provide the opportunity to empower the participants and build their skills and confidence to speak up by being an active bystander and support others.
The idea for these workshops and the We Stand Together campaign was generated by the Monash Multicultural Advisory Committee, and the growing need to support members of Monash’s culturally diverse community that are experiencing racism, and to support the whole of our community to take a stand and speak up against it.
Five in-person workshops will take place at our Clayton Community Centre, Cooke Street, Clayton. The workshops are free, but bookings are essential. You can choose to attend one, some or all sessions.
All workshops run from 6.30-8.30pm on the below dates.
- Thursday 27 July: Experiencing Racism – How to deal with my emotions?
- Thursday 29 August: Resilience Against Racism – Reframe and empower
